Steps
  • No registration, no form: show the passport at the Macau border, ferry terminal or airport
  • Coming from Hong Kong: your PAR visit ends when you leave Hong Kong; coming back into Hong Kong counts as a new PAR visit (up to 14 days)
  • Keep the small arrival slip — it is checked on the way out

MOP (Macanese Pataca) — roughly ₹11; Hong Kong dollars are accepted 1:1 almost everywhere

  • Niyo Global / Scapia — Withdraw HKD in Hong Kong and spend it here; MOP change comes back, which is useless once you leave — spend it
  • Visa/Mastercard credit — Casinos, resorts and Cotai malls take cards; old-town cafés and street food are cash

Cash vs card
Card in the resorts, cash in the old town. Pay in HKD, and refuse MOP change on larger notes if you are leaving the same day.

  • 2L alcohol duty-free; casino winnings above the cash limit must be declared on the Indian side

  • MOP 120,000+ cash (or equivalent) must be declared
  • Casino floors are 21+ — under-21s are turned away at the door, passports are checked
