What documents do I need for a Hong Kong visa?Three, all as PDF or JPG

Scan each one before you start the form. The passport must have six months left on the day you fly in, not the day you apply.

Travelling with a child? The child needs their own visa on their own passport. Same fee.

Keep these ready

  • Indian passport valid 6+ months with 1 blank page
  • PAR notification slip — printed on A4, carried with the passport
  • Return/onward ticket and hotel booking (asked at immigration occasionally)

How do I apply for a Hong Kong visa from India?Five steps

  1. Register on immd.gov.hk → 'Pre-arrival Registration for Indian Nationals' — takes 10 minutes, no fee
  2. Type 'place of birth' and 'place of issue' exactly as printed in the passport, punctuation and repeats included — a passport that says 'Delhi, Delhi' needs 'Delhi, Delhi' on the PAR, not just 'Delhi'. The slip is matched against the passport at the counter, and a mismatch means re-registering or questions at immigration
  3. Approval is immediate for most; print the slip. It is valid 6 months for multiple visits of up to 14 days each
  4. A rejected PAR means you need a full visa (HKD 230, 4 weeks) — apply before booking non-refundable travel
  5. No arrival card to fill (Hong Kong scrapped it for visitors): hand over your passport and the PAR slip at the counter and keep the small landing slip you get back — it shows your limit of stay
