Terms of service
Last updated: 5 November 2026 · Applies to the Tripkosh app, tripkosh.com and the Tripkosh WhatsApp number
The short version
- Tripkosh is free. Guides need no account; planning a trip with an account needs only your phone number.
- Guides and Ask are researched information, not advice. Rules change, so always confirm visas, entry and customs rules with official sources before you fly.
- We don’t sell travel. Booking links take you to partners such as Klook; the booking is between you and them, and we may earn a commission.
- Your trips and documents stay yours. We only use them to run the features you use, as our privacy policy explains.
- Nothing here takes away the rights consumer law gives you where you live.
1. Who we are
Tripkosh is operated by Nikhil Jain, sole proprietor, trading as Tripkosh, in India (“Tripkosh”, “we”, “us”). Address: 181-3A, Street 15, Bholanath Nagar, Shahdara, Delhi 110032, India. Email: [email protected]. The same details appear as our trader information on Google Play and the App Store. By using Tripkosh you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy; together they are the whole agreement between you and us about Tripkosh.
2. What Tripkosh is
Tripkosh is a travel companion for Indian travellers: destination guides, trip planning, packing checklists, itineraries, a document vault, Ask (an assistant that answers from our guides), trip sharing, travelling together on one trip, and a WhatsApp number you can sign in with and forward bookings to. Tripkosh is not a travel agent, tour operator or visa agent.
We improve Tripkosh all the time, so we may add, change or remove features. We may also discontinue Tripkosh or any part of it. Where reasonably practicable, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice in the app and a chance to export your data. We may suspend or end a feature sooner where security, the law or another exceptional reason requires it.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 to create an account. Children can of course be travellers on your trip.
- You sign in with a phone number you own, by SMS or WhatsApp code. Keep your phone and your vault recovery code safe; anyone holding them can get into your account.
- Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Guides and Ask are information, not advice
Tripkosh guides and Ask give general travel information to help you plan. They are not legal, immigration, medical, financial or other professional advice.
Ask uses artificial intelligence to write its answers from our guides. Answers may be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and may not reflect the latest government rules, travel advisories or local conditions. Guides can go out of date too: visa, entry, customs, health and payment rules can change without notice.
Before you book or travel, check anything important with the relevant government authority, embassy, airline, hotel or other official source. Tripkosh does not guarantee a visa approval, entry to any country, a successful booking or the accuracy of third-party information. If you spot a mistake, tap “Report this answer” or write to us; we fix errors quickly.
5. Booking links and partners
Some guides and trips link to partners such as Klook. We don’t sell, book or take payment for flights, hotels, tours or anything else. When you book through a link, your contract, payment, cancellations and refunds are with that partner, under their terms. We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and that never decides what our guides recommend.
Prices, availability, descriptions and booking conditions on a partner’s site are controlled by the partner and can change without notice. If they differ from what our guide says, the partner’s information is what you are booking.
6. WhatsApp
You can sign in with WhatsApp and forward booking confirmations, tickets and other travel documents to the Tripkosh WhatsApp number. Messages pass through WhatsApp (Meta) under its own terms and privacy policy, and then to us. A booking you forward is stored in your vault as an unlocked document and read automatically to fill in your trip, exactly as the privacy policy describes. Don’t forward passports, visas or IDs this way; add them in the app, where they are locked.
Only forward what you have the right to share, and check that the other travellers named in a booking are happy for it to be stored. WhatsApp is run by Meta, so we can’t promise it will always be available.
7. Your trips, documents and content
- You keep ownership of everything you add to Tripkosh: trips, plans, checklists, notes, bookings and documents. We don’t claim ownership of any of it.
- So the app can work, you give us a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, process, copy and display that content, only as necessary to provide, maintain, secure and support the features you use, including showing it to people you share a trip with or add to one. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for the short time any backup copy takes to expire and anything the law requires us to keep.
- Some features send parts of your content to service providers, such as AI services for reading bookings and answering Ask questions. The privacy policy lists what goes where.
- Documents you lock are encrypted on your phone before they are uploaded, and we never receive the key. We cannot open them, so we cannot recover them if you lose both your phone and your recovery code. Locked documents are never sent to AI services.
- When you share a trip link or add people to a trip, they see what the app tells you they will see. Only share with people you trust.
- Keep your own copies of essential documents (passport, visa, tickets). Tripkosh is a convenience, not the only place they should be.
8. Fair use
Please don’t:
- upload anything illegal, or documents that belong to someone who hasn’t agreed to it;
- use Tripkosh to spam, harass, impersonate or mislead other people, including through trip invites, share links or our WhatsApp number;
- upload content that infringes someone else’s rights, is obscene or harmful, or that the law in India prohibits;
- try to break into, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or scrape our guides with automated tools;
- republish our guides, photos or writing elsewhere. Reading, saving, printing and sharing a guide with your travel companions for your own trips is fine, and so are short quotes with a link back.
9. Our content
The Tripkosh name and logo, the app and website, their design, and our guides and writing belong to us. Photos are ours or used under licence, with credit where the licence asks for it. You may use them to plan your own trips as described above.
10. Availability and responsibility
We make reasonable efforts to keep Tripkosh available, secure and accurate, and saved trips keep working offline. But the service is provided “as available”: we can’t promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation or that any particular feature will continue.
To the maximum extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of Tripkosh, from relying on travel information without checking it, from a partner’s booking or service, or from events beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including for fraud, wilful misconduct, or negligence causing death or personal injury.
If we learn of a security incident affecting your personal data, we will act to contain it and tell you and the authorities where the law requires.
11. Suspending or closing accounts
- If you delete your account (Profile → Delete my account & data, or tripkosh.com/delete-account), your account, trips, documents and other data are deleted from our live systems straight away. Backup copies may remain for a short time until they expire on our normal backup cycle.
- If we suspend your account for breaking the fair-use rules, you can’t use it while suspended, but your data is kept. We’ll tell you why, unless the law stops us, and give you a chance to respond.
- If we close your account, we’ll explain why where the law allows and, unless it’s urgent or unlawful, give you a reasonable chance to download your trips and documents first. Your data is then deleted as above.
- After deletion we keep only what the law requires, what we need to resolve a dispute or protect the service, and anonymous usage records that were never linked to you.
12. Privacy
How we collect, use, share and delete your personal data, including documents, WhatsApp messages and AI processing, is set out in our privacy policy. If anything there conflicts with these terms on a privacy question, the privacy policy wins.
13. Your rights as a consumer and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to the consumer protection and other mandatory laws of the country where you live, including in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom.
If you have a concern or dispute, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally. Nothing in these terms limits your right to approach a consumer commission, court or other authority that has jurisdiction under applicable law.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. For changes that matter, we’ll tell you in the app before they take effect. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Tripkosh and delete your account.
15. General
If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. You can’t transfer your account or these terms to someone else.
16. Contact and grievances
Questions about these terms: [email protected]. Privacy requests: [email protected].
Grievance officer: Nikhil Jain, [email protected], 181-3A, Street 15, Bholanath Nagar, Shahdara, Delhi 110032, India. Write with “Grievance” in the subject line, including content you want removed or a complaint about how we handled your data. We acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.
